Currently, there are above 20 medical colleges in Nepal including both Governmental and Private sectors. Most of them are affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU/IOM) and Kathmandu University (KU). There are few other institutes which are not affiliated with either Tribhuvan University or Kathmandu University such as B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKIHS), Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) and National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS).
The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program in Nepal is a four and a half year integrated program with one-year compulsory internship training. The minimum time period for completion of MBBS course in Tribhuvan University is around six years which also includes internship whereas in Kathmandu University it takes five and half years.
Students who have passed the 10+2 examination or any other equivalent examination with the science background are entitled to apply for the admission into medical colleges in Nepal. It is vital for every student to choose the best college that would strengthen and give an edge to the career. So here is a list of Nepal’s top ten medical colleges.

Nepal Medical College was somewhat good but now is worst for Medical students. No good exposure, always vandalization by locals and fearful environment has let to downfall. I don’t think it is safe for Medical students as well, area is totally dangerous.
